Frequently asked questions.

What do all the letters mean?

You might be wondering, “what do all of those letters behind her name mean?” Here is an explanation of the letters or credentials behind my name:

  • MS: MS stands for Masters of Science. I completed a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Carolina University.

  • LPC: LPC stands for Licensed Professional Counselor. To become a LPC in the state of Texas, one must complete a master’s program in counseling or a related subject then complete 3,000 hours of clinical experience post-graduation under the supervision of a board-approved LPC-Supervisor.

  • NCC: NCC stands for National Certified Counselor. Counselors holding this certification have met the highest standards of counselor education in all 50 states and complete continuing education to continue to be certified.

Do you take insurance?

I am considered an out of network provider as I do not take or bill insurance. However, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Before booking an appointment, I suggest calling the number on the back of your insurance card to inquire about your “out of network” mental health benefits and how to submit an out-of-network reimbursement claim.

Superbill: A superbill is a detailed invoice outlining the services a client received. Therapists may need to generate a superbill when they are not on a client’s insurance company’s panel. The client submits the superbill directly to the insurer, giving the insurer all the information they need to reimburse the insurer for the claim.

What is your session fee?

My session fee is $150 for a 50-minute session and $175 for intake sessions. I accept cash, checks, and credit cards at the time of the appointment.
